The head of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines urged members not to receive donations from the Philippine Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), as getting such contributions is still considered immoral.

"We still have to know who are the bishops na accepting donations (from PAGCOR).” CBCP president and Tandag bishop Nereo Odchimar told Church-run Radio Veritas.

Odchimar, however, pointed out that the PAGCOR donation is different from the ones given by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office to the Church.

"Because sweepstakes is for charity. PAGCOR is primarily gambling," the CBCP president added. (source)

This is actually a contradiction to the message of late Cardinal Sin before telling the reporters who interviewed him that the Catholic Church will accept donations of PAGCOR even if the money came from gambling... even if the donation came from Satan.

Actually, ang post kong ito ay isang commento lamang sa post ni Agustinong Pinoy sa kaniyang blog, ang sabi:

Kaninang hapon ay napanoon ko ang programa ng mga nasa Ang Dating Daan. Sila'y nag-react sa isang patutsada ni Ka Ramil ng Iglesya ni Kristo na kung saan sinabi niyang: "Sino ka ba, Eliseo Soriano? Kahit sa aki'y di ka uubra." Na siyang sinagot naman nina Josel at iba pa: "E sino naman si Eraño Manalo."

Kung tutuusi'y wala nang maaasahan sa dalawang grupong ito kundi ang magbangayan at mag-asaran. Sayang ang "air-time" na maaari sanang magamit sa ibang bagay. E sino nga ba si Eliseo Soriano o Eraño Manalo kung ikukumpara dito?

Hindi ko na po bigyan ng commento yung tungkol sa sagutan ng mga panelista ng Ang Dating Daan at ng Ang Tamang Daan. Ang nais ko lang pong bigyan ng pansin ay ang ukol sa sinabi niyang:

Yung terminong dito po ay nakalink po yan sa isang feature article ng Time.com about the pope. So ang nais niyang sabihin, sino daw po si Eliseo Soriano o Eraño Manalo kung ikukumpara sa Santo Papa ng Iglesia Catholica Apostolica Romana.

Ang totoo po hanga ako sa Santo Papa regarding sa kaniyang mga accomplishments as leader at politician. Pero ang tanong, bilang leader ng relihiyon, nagampanan kaya niya ang mga kalooban ng Dios? Naituro niya kaya sa kaniyang mga nasasakupan ang dalisay na aral ni Cristo?

Naaalala ko po kasi ang ginawang pag-angkin sino mang Santo Papa ng Iglesia Katolika na diumano sila ang Vicar of Christ. Sila daw po ang kahalili ni Cristo. Bakit, may katapusan po ba ang karapatan ni Cristo na dapat siyang palitan bilang ulo ng tunay na Iglesia?

Pangalawa po, ay ang pag-aangkin ng mga Papang ito na sila daw po ang HOLY FATHER. Isa pong kalapastanganan sa harap ng tunay na Dios na siyang tunay na HOLY FATHER.

Ang dalawang kalapastanganang ito ay iilan lamang sa mga gawang labag sa kalooban ng Dios na hindi kailan man nakikita ng mga devutong Katoliko, sa pag-aakala nila na ang kanilang relihiyong napaaniban ay siyang tunay na Iglesia, ang hindi nila alam, isa lamang itong bunga ng natalikod na Iglesiang kinaaniban ng mga Apostol noong unang siglo.

This morning I received a text message regarding the date and time wherein Pope John Paul II died. According to the said message, the Pope died at 9:37 on April 2.

Actually this is just a game. A mathematical game. Okay, let us multiply 9 and 37, thus giving us the product of 333. Remember, that the pope died on April 2, so we can try multiplying 333 by 2 which is equal to 666, which is the number of the beast in the book of Revelation by Apostle John.

Remember this is just a game... a game that sometimes tell the truth, because if we will really study the truth written in the Bible and the truth regarding the papacy, we will understand that the one who has the number 666 is really the pope.

In my other blog, "Plans And My Future", I told you that during my highschool years, I was recruited by a seminarian to join them in the seminary at the St. Peter Minor-Seminary in Butuan City. I tried to ask him all the questions raised on my head regarding the vocation, including the length of time before I became a true priest.

The seminarian answered me that, it would take me 10 to 12 years before I would be ordained as a priest. The first 4 years, will be the time to take the pre-seminary course or a Bachelor of Arts wherein I would be taking up basic education subjects, including Philosophy. Then another 4 years for seminary courses wherein I would be taking up Theology subjects. Then 2 years being a deacon or commonly called on-the-job-training. Then finally the ordaination of being a priest.

It is such a long process of formation from an ordinary member of the Roman Catholic Church to Priesthood. But I really wondered why, priests became homosexual after such a long process. I already had posted here the Bishops Reports on Sexual Abuse wherein mostly the victims were boys.

Who will be the next Pope 2005? I am asking my self whenever I think of the Pope John Paul II. I even wonder if the next pope is better than John Paul II or is worst that those of the early popes who authored the death of millions of people around the world by killing them on the stake of fire.

I will just hope that although the Pope called himself as the HOLY FATHER which is intended only to call the true God who is the real HOLY FATHER, that the new pope will be as good as the Poland Pope who became the world's greatest man of peace.

Pope John Paul II was laid to rest in Saint Peter’s basilica on Friday after an elaborate and emotional funeral rite attended by about one million people and watched by countless others around the world.

Vatican officials said the pope was buried in a triple casket in the crypt close to the spot believed to contain the remains of Peter, the apostle chosen by Jesus Christ to found his church almost 2,000 years ago.

The burial inaugurated a nine-day period of mourning for the Polish-born pontiff, who died on Saturday aged 84 after a 26-year reign, the third longest in history. On April 18, Roman Catholic cardinals are to meet behind closed doors to start the process of electing his successor.

About 300,000 mourners thronged in and around Saint Peter’s Square, where the pope’s body lay in a plain wooden coffin during the mass attended by the political and religious leaders of more than half the world’s nations. (more)
